FLASHPOINTSHere's just a few examples of the many new stories and challenges you'll face as a mercenary commander in Flashpoint: In addition to narrative twists and turns, some Flashpoint stories feature consecutive deployments in which players can’t repair or heal between missions, while others feature infiltration contracts that restrict the tonnage of deployable BattleMechs.īeyond adding over 30 hours of exciting Flashpoints to BATTLETECH, this expansion comes complete with three new ‘Mechs (including the highly anticipated Hatchetman), a challenging new mission type, and a new tropical biome for the biggest and most challenging BATTLETECH experience yet.

But if I have to sit through this Sisyphean hell just to get locked out of the black market for what ends up being some money (which I dont need) and a rare shadow hawk Im gonna suck start a shotgun.BATTLETECH's first-ever expansion adds new gameplay, depth, and over 30 hours of new content to your mercenary experience. Actually fighting mechs at my strength level is a nice change and made me put more thought into my turns than unga bunga stand in trees and shoot cockpit. Five times, maybe more with how my luck is going is my limit. Thanks to the back to back consecutive drop nature of this flashpoint I have to suffer through all of it again. I was able to get through it the next time, beat the next mission, then the game crashed during the loading screen for the final mission. Next attempt the barrage just never showed up and the game froze. The second time I beat it then the game froze in the middle of the following mission. The first time one of the disposable mechwarriors I hired just for that mission died and the "your mechwarrior died" popup wouldnt dismiss and locked out my screen. It wasnt that bad the first time I went through it, but what makes it even more torture is that I've now had to play it multiple times now thanks to bugs. Having to wait for 16 units to make their move each round before I get to do anything again is awful especially for a mission where actually engaging in combat is a bad idea- meaning Im sitting through all of that just to get a chance to move my guys.

The third mission is a complete slog and combines some of the worst characteristics of the game for me. I beat the first two missions, which were fun especially because I managed to outmaneuver/evade the reinforcements both times with slow lumbering assault mechs. I just want to know, are the rewards for this flashpoint worth it? Normally I like to go in blind on these but this ones giving me issues and google wont tell me any loot tables. Some spoilers below for those who havent played this flashpoint yet.
